Probably a silly question, but I'm curious about how to send an email to a group within the Email tool. Is there an easy way of doing that? Adding the groupId doesn't work.

I can think of a couple solutions that aren't ideal: 1) Creating a new plugin or 2) Setting some sort of variable within a Beanshell Tool so I can access it via the hash variable in the 'To' field of the email tool. I read another form post that said there is a User Notification Plugin that can use the groupId, but it looks to be a version 2 plugin which I'm not sure works with V3.

Thanks!

  1. Hi Pete,

You can use participant id by fill in the id you get from "Map Participants to Users" tab to the "To (Participant ID)" field. If the participant id is map to a group, the email will send to all the users in that group.

    Hope this helps.

    1. Thanks Owen. I found that I was using the wrong ID in the "To (Participant ID)" field. I was using the 'Group ID' from the Setup User page when I should have used one of the IDs indicated on the 'Map Participants to Users' tab.

  2. But what if I don't want to use a wrong id. I do not have any of such wrong ids and so there is a problem to solve this matter.
