Filtering drop down data in a spreadsheet

Greetings - 

So I created a form and added a few drop down fields that use "Field ID to control available options based on Grouping"  which limits the selections and it works well.

when I create a spreadsheet in another form and reference those fields the group filtering doesnt work. is that by design? is there a way to enforce  the filtering?

      Hi - so I figured out that if I enable AJAX for Cascade options the filtering in the form are also good in the spreadsheet.
