Dear all,

When I created a new user, I saw "Report to" on the form. What is the usefulness of the "Report to" ?

Thanks

  1. The person that a user reports to, is the person's HOD. The "report to" feature takes higher precedence than the department HOD. For example:

    • John is attached to Design Department
    • Clark is Design Department's HOD
    • John reports to Terry

In this case, to Joget Workflow, Terry is John's HOD. However, if the "report to" for John is not configured, then Clark is John's HOD.

This is useful for Participant Mapping configuration by "performer's HOD".

    1. Shouldn't Performer's HOD be named to MIC (manager-in-charge) to avoid confusion to actual HOD (head of department)?

In our scenario, there is certain activity a head of department should approve while others the immediate supervisor (manager) can approve which is not a HOD. How can this be achieved in joget?

  2. Hi Tiensoon, can we add some new roles in user management?

    1. Technically speaking, you can manually create "more roles" by adding records into the dir_role database table.

However, this will not make any difference in the functionality of Joget Workflow Management Console. The Management Console is designed to support "Administrator" and "Normal User" roles.
