Hey everyone!

Has anyone gotten the App Designer Role to work, without the "you do not have permission" error?

I followed the DX Tutorial: Delegate App Designer Role

And it works as expected, and a user will get the Edit Pencil ... but any Quick Edit or Access to The Forms & UI or Processes areas results in "you do not have permissions". I've attempted to sign in/out with the delegated user, and have NOT had success.

I think you need to be in Design App console of the app that you have been given permission to use the Delegate App Designer Role permission. The "Design App console" refers to this URL, for example, https://localhost:8080/jw/web/console/app/crm/1/forms. Only users with admin role has access to the "Quick Edit" links.

        As a quick update:

        1) I DO NOT know what caused my initial access issue (I'm going to blame a gremlin), because I have since created a group, used the edit pencil + quick edit from a NON-admin user.

The best I got: I either gave permission via an organization, but had a non-added user. OR I had an odd permission view restriction for a userview.

I have since created a new group, added a user-level only account, delegated a designer role, AND used the edit/pencil... with no access issue. :-/

        2) Why I marked this as answered: your suggestion of potentially being an access issue with the Quick Edit/Userview DOES WORK! – so thanks again – however I wanted to figure out how I could get there with any of my Joget apps. The answer: as an admin go and expand the edit pencil, then go to the left menu options, in this case hover over "Forms & UI" and copy/record that URL.

The other method is to understand from your link: the "/crm/ portion is the App ID. Thus, the form listing generically is "https://<WEB URL>/jw/web/console/app/<YOUR DEFINED APP ID>/1/forms."

Aka – what you said work, but sadly due to my original issue being resolved, I do NOT know if this would have fixed my problem – so updating for future users/posterity.

        Thanks again!!!

      Thanks Matthew!

I haven't tested this out yet, I tried your link and believe I understand the App Console. I do get what you mean by the quick link.

We were working an LDAP configuration issue, so I hope to test this tomorrow. Have a great day, and I shall follow-up!
